I am an Associate Professor at the University of Toronto Mississauga, and past director of the Master of Science In Biomedical Communications, offered through the Institute of Medical Science, Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto. This program is unique in Canada, and focuses on the design and evaluation of innovative visual instruments for medical education, patient information, and scientific discovery.

I study the development of visual media as instruments of biomedical research, teaching, and patient assistance. I am the co-author (with Jason Sharpe and Charles Lumsden) of In Silico: 3D Animation and Simulation of Cell Biology with Maya and MEL.

In Fall of 2022 I will be teaching graduate courses in organic modelling and cinematic design, and in winter term 2023 I will be teaching an undergraduate course in Information Visualization.

I am also currently serving as President of the Association of Medical Illustrators (my term ends in July 2022).
